Digital Media Field, Why is it important?

History

When we look back almost two decades ago, Digital Media had not yet been considered to be a career. Being a part of Digital Media plays into a major global trend which is digital content. According to eMarketer, for the first time, adults within the U.K. spent an average of 5 hours per day on digital media than traditional media. The positive for those seeking a degree will add onto their skill set a diverse range of tools such as programming language, editing photos and audio clips, or designing complex animation.

Majors

The Digital Media major is offered mainly in three concentrations: video, simulation and web design. Regardless of each program offering different focus areas, the freshman year offers the general basics that are the same across all.

Job Opportunities and Salaries

If we look at Digital Media within the Job field, it is considered to be the new field that is yet taking over. When we look at Digital Media employees, salaries range just over $72,000 a year in the United States of America. And if we take the time to delve a little deeper into what career opportunity Digital Media graduates have, we're able to see specialties in film, television, finance, marketing, sales, health care, education, and nonprofits, not to forget graphic designers, web developers, video editors, animators and media curators.

This allows us to see both the range of work specialties and the possibilities of one financial state within a field such as Digital Media. It all leads back to one's ability to drive their creativity and hone it within a fast-paced environment that maintains its space within ever-so-changing trends.
