Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering in the Digital Media Arts Department is a hands-on, professionally-oriented program geared for students who want marketable job skills for careers in music producing, live sound reinforcement, audio post production, and sound design for film, television, and related media industries. Students produce, track, mix, and master their own audio projects in our two recording studios for musical performances, television documentaries, public service announcements, instructional films, and a variety of client-based projects for nonprofit organizations, community groups, and corporate partners. The curriculum provides students the opportunity to apply their skills to produce a variety of professional-quality audio, film and television products.

To be considered for the application fee waiver, you must be:

GPA Requirements

Students must receive a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher for California residents (3.0 for non-California residents)

A-G Requirements

Students must complete all A-G college preparatory coursework with grades of C- or better. For Fall 2021 applicants, A-G coursework with a Pass/Credit taken during Winter/Spring/Summer 2020 will be considered to fulfill A-G requirements.

  • Nursing students pay a reduced Student Center fee of $43 for the fall and spring term. Nursing students do not pay a Health Services fee.
