Program Overview

This program is a hands-on, self-paced program that can be completed in six quarters. The placement of graduates is excellent, with a variety of opportunities available with local businesses. You can gain skills and business techniques necessary to become self-employed, a shop foreman or to work in a shop's lead position. 

This degree program prepares the student for employment in the automotive industry.

Graduates of the program achieve competencies set forth by the ASE Education Foundation and obtained related education in the fields of leadership, human relations, and communication.

Credit for hours of training is usually granted to those entering into an approved apprenticeship program and is granted for the certification experience requirement.

Entry into the program is on a space-available basis with the instructor’s permission.

New students must show proof of a valid driver’s license. Students must keep a valid driver’s license while attending automotive classes.

PROGRAM NOTES

Students who become successful as Automotive Technicians complete repetitive tasks well and develop good upper body strength with the ability to lift up to 70 pounds periodically.

Good interpersonal skills are also an asset in the automotive field.
