Program Overview
MAHSA University offers Bachelor of Science Biotechnology (Hons) which is a 3-year programme for the aspirants willing for a great career in Biotechnology in the areas of industry, medicine and environmental research.
During the programme, students will gain knowledge on biology, chemistry, bioprocess engineering, plant and animal biotechnology, statistics, genetics, genetic engineering, immunology, cellular and molecular biology, Recombinant DNA technology etc.
Students graduated with Bachelor of Science Biotechnology (Hons) from MAHSA University can direct themselves towards the career opportunities like academician, scientists, expert in industries, quality analyst, product specialist, entrepreneur and so on in biotechnology and allied fields.
Very essentially, students graduated from MAHSA University can fulfil the requirements expected by biotechnology and its associated industries. The skills and subjects that they learnt will make them and the society to live a peaceful, healthy and safer life.

Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent; and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent.
International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS OR Band 3 in MUET OR its equivalent.
i. MQF Level Entry Requirement English Competency Requirement (International Student) OR
ii. Pass STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or its equivalent; and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent; OR
iii. Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent, and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent; OR
iv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent. Note: The credit requirement at SPM level for candidate in categories (i), (ii) and (iii) can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM / STAM / Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation level are equivalent/higher.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP: The Sports Scholarships are a tribute to students who actively participate in sports even while pursuing higher education.

HAJI ABDULLAH ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP: The Haji Abdullah Academic Excellence Scholarship is offered to students who have risen above their underprivileged backgrounds to excel both academically and in extra-curricular activities.

- Selection Criteria: Students who can demonstrate financial constraints and are excelling both academically and in extra-curricular activities
- Value: Up to 50% of tuition fees

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Foundation Scholarship is merit-based and offered to students who have completed SPM and O Levels with outstanding results.

- Selection Criteria: Malaysian students with a minimum of 5A’S in SPM or O-Levels
- Value: Up to 100% of tuition fees

- All Foundation Programs (FIS & FIB): 8As and above: 100% scholarship and 5As to 7As: 50% scholarship
BLUE RIBBON SCHOLARSHIP: The Blue Ribbon Scholarship rewards students who are enrolled in a pathway programme.

SCHOOL TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP: The School Teachers Scholarship appreciates and recognizes the contribution of all school teachers in nation-building. We welcome them and their families to MAHSA University.

FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: The Family Scholarship supports the pursuit of higher education of the whole family of a MAHSA Student/Alumni.

THE SINGLE-PARENT SCHOLARSHIP: The Single-Parent Scholarship recognizes the financial challenges of the single parent and supports the education of the child.

OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDE:
GAMUDA: This scholarship is offered to Malaysian students who have positive life attitudes and leadership qualities. It is offered for full-time Degrees in Engineering, Technical Sciences, Quantity Surveying, and Commerce & Humanities.
- Eligibility Criteria: At least 5 As in SPM or 3 As in STPM, or equivalent (Foundation, Matriculation, Diploma). The student has to be free of any other loans or scholarships and will also have to serve the Gamuda Group for a specific period after graduation.
- Scholarship Coverage: The scholarship covers up to 100% of course fees.
HONGLEONG FOUNDATION: Intended to benefit Malaysian students from low-income families, the Foundation believes that providing scholarships is about providing opportunities, giving students the chance to have the higher education necessary to come into their own and be the next generation of leaders and captains of industries.
- The Foundation expanded its scholarship offering to include a Master’s Scholarship programme and an education development programme for low-income students from challenging backgrounds who have obtained a minimum of 3As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
- More than RM 2,000,000 is allocated each year for scholarship grants for both these programmes. We also strongly and actively encourage students living with disabilities to apply.
YAYASAN: Non-profit organization initiated by the IOI Group founder, which provides a scholarship for the first or second year of undergraduate or postgraduate study in public and private universities for specific disciplines. Scholarship recipients will be required to serve the IOI Group upon graduation at various locations in Malaysia. The bond period will depend on the amount of the scholarship.
- Scholarship Coverage: The scholarship covers up to RM200,000.00 of tuition fees.
MIC YOUTH: The MIC Youth Scholarship Programme offers scholarships to 1,500 Indian students from underprivileged families to pursue higher education.
- The scholarship program will offer scholarships worth RM 16.8 million to assist Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) school, leavers.
YAYASAN SIME DARBY: It is the philanthropic arm of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad, and Sime Darby Berhad. Over the years, the Foundation has expanded its wings from offering scholarships to outstanding and deserving individuals to impactful funding conservation, outreach, and development programmes. In addition, YSD provides scholarships and bursaries to deserving Malaysians with excellent academic results and leadership qualities for vocational studies, certificates, diplomas, and undergraduate studies in local and foreign institutions.
